"I have specialised in providing business services and consultancy to investment managers for over 20 years. I founded HedgeStart in 2000, delivering focused consultancy services both to start-up and established hedge funds.

Before HedgeStart, I worked as CFO/COO with ex-Soros principal Scott Bessent, launching Bessent Capital as a $1bn long-short equity fund in 2000.

Prior to Bessent I ran all the non-trading aspects of Soros's London office, including launching the office in 1992/3. Earlier, at Coopers & Lybrand, I specialised in providing consulting and audit services to securities and asset management businesses." Find out more … Contact me

"I have specialised in financial services tax and the issues and opportunities facing investment managers for my entire 30-year professional career. I currently lead the delivery of HedgeStart’s tax services.

As well as hedge fund managers my clients have included UK mutual and alternative asset managers, fund administrators, investment banks and many innovative investment funds and offshore financial structures. I am a member of the tax panels of both AIMA and the AITC.

Prior to HedgeStart I was a worldwide partner and Head of Asset Management Tax at Arthur Andersen, as well as founding and running their Hedge Funds Practice in London. I advised a range of global institutions including a leading US private equity group and a multinational banking and asset management group, together with many hedge fund managers." "I lead the development and delivery of HedgeStart's tailored technology solutions. I have 20 years' experience in IT for the finance industry and bring in-depth understanding of the practical implications of providing effective technology platforms.

As a project leader and service manager, I have been responsible for both global and regional delivery of solutions. Before joining HedgeStart in 2002 I worked at UBS Warburg for 10 years, where my roles included Equities IT Infrastructure Manager, Senior Market Data Business Analyst, and Senior Customer Relationship Manager. "I was chief executive and owner of the Compliance Consulting firm Fundstart until merging with HedgeStart in 2004.

My 20-year track record includes in-house compliance, operations management and political risk analysis. This included working for highly successful start-ups such as Adelphi Capital (zero to $1 billion funds under management in two years); Regent Kingpin (successful bid for $600 million fund) and Buchanan Partners Ltd (zero to over $1 billion funds in three years).
