Laurence joined HedgeStart in June 2011 as Head of IT, to manage the expanding IT team and the service offering to clients, as well as the IT infrastructure of HedgeStart. He arrived with a wealth of experience in provision of business driven solutions to investment banking and asset management companies. HedgeStart and clients alike benefit from his operations experience and his strategic and project management skills.

For six years Laurence was Head of Infrastructure and Support of Matrix Group, a financial service business with £4 billion assets under management and 250 professionals employed across three divisions. Responsible for the IT strategy and £4m+ budget, this included building the technology team, supporting front office traders/fund managers, third-party contract negotiation including RFPs, producing business cases, team-performance management, implementing robust and flexible processes and procedures, project management and procurement. His role at Matrix Group followed a successful Oracle back office system development project with Matrix Data.

Prior to Matrix, Laurence was a Development Manager at BNP Paribas, managing a team of 12 Oracle and Microsoft designers and developers, supporting all areas of the business with web-based and client/server applications. He started his career as an Oracle Designer/Developer.
